Three or More Tuesday-Pottery

This is my second post today for Three or More Tuesday!
I do that sometimes.
The first is on my main blog.
But on this one I am sharing something I made over 10 years ago!
But first let me thank Tam again for hosting.
You can visit her at The Gypsy's Corner!
Here are Three things I made in a ceramics class.
I had to take the class as part of my prerequisites
for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program
I was preparing for at the time.
I have been in this career for 7 years now.
We had to learn different techniques for making ceramic items.
This one I started with a long narrow slab.
And thin too.
Then it was rolled and shaped into this piece.
This picture is pretty close to the true color.
Here is another view.
This one was taken without the flash.
Gives it a different look.
To make this one, I started out with a rolled ball.
Then I had to flatten it out until it became a bowl.
See how thin the edges are.
I had to spread, stretch and flatten to get this form.
A view from above.

This one started the same way, except that I
rolled the outside edge in towards the center.
This gave it a basket shaped look.

A view from above.
Then they had to be fired, glazed and then fired again.

This one is rather large done with yet another technique.
I had rectangler shapes that were sort of thick.
Then I had to join them on edge and smooth the seams out
where each slab met.
I left opening between slabs creating those windows you see.

It was a fun class. Made a lot of things in it.
I still have other ones I made floating around.
When I find them perhaps I will post those other ones too.
In yesterday's BLUE Monday
I stated I would share what I had displayed in front of the vases.

Here they are as I have them displayed.
The vases in back with one raised on a box.
Then my ceramic items displayed in front.
Also on different height things.
This gives an uneven number of things
displayed with a triangle in mind.
A suggested method I have seen on HGTV.
Those American Indian dolls??
That is another collection we have.
That is only two of them.
~~~~
Happy Three or More Tuesday!!
Thanks for visiting!
