REDensday Wallet

 Gee! It has been a long time since I last posted here.
I made something RED and thought I would share it for REDnesday!
I am joining Sue over at It's A Very Cherry World!
I was browsing Pinterest and fell in love with this wallet pattern.
I decided I could make it and rummaged in my fabric stash and came up with
this combo for my wallet.
The pattern/tutorial I followed can be found here.
 One thing I would have done differently is not have the interfacing go all the way to the edge of the fabric.
Would have made pressing and turning easier.
I used Decor Bond from Pellon. Pretty heavy.
 The tutorial said use a 7" zipper, but could use longer.
I had a white 7" zipper on hand.
After putting  it in, I wished I had used a 9" zipper.
 I bought these RED Wonder Clips by Clover at Hancock's as a
Mother's Day treat for myself. Worked great while sewing on the wallet!
 My chalk holder is RED too!
 My finished wallet. And I love it!
I added a zipper on the outside as well. Bought a
9" zipper for this one and it was definitely easier to work
with the longer zipper and cut it shorter.
Here is the inside.
There are two long pockets. One on each side.
Six credit card slots.
Two zippers.
And a snap closer.

Now I plan to make a matching purse!

Hope you all had a wonderful REDnesday!

A late Whoop Whoop.

Sarah at Confessions of A Fabric Addict still has her link open
so here I am finally getting my post done.

I did get some sewing done again. I am really working
at sewing several times each week. It is just harder some weeks than others.
But I do squeeze in a few minutes anyway sometimes.

Last time I showed my January blocks for the House Blocks Sew-Along.
These are the February ones. I am happy to have them done in the month of February.
Not sure, but I think the March ones are going to be yellow houses.

I got more done on my Baby Crawling Mat project.
I am actually making two of them.
I did not have enough fabric for the borders and yesterday
I stopped by Hancock's and they had just enough left on the bolt.
Whew! And yes, I bought the rest of the bolt.
This is a quick project I fit in for Mardi Gras.
A colorful vest to wear.
Got it done and wore it Tuesday evening.
I used an out of print Butterick pattern for it.
The number is 5552.
When checking the Butterick website I discovered that number is
assigned to a different pattern now.
I hope next year to add a ruffly blouse to it.

That was my week.
I have done a lot more sewing this weekend,
but will wait until the next Whoop Whoop to share that one.

Happy Sewing and Crafting!

Get R Done Friday!

Yay! It is time for Get R Done Friday!
And I have some Get R Done stuff this week.
First a BIG thank you to
ClassyChassy at
for hosting this fun meme.
First I gotta show you this sunset.
A Get R Done sunset.
I mean, to actually pull over the car and get
a picture of a great sunset instead
of driving on by and not taking a chance
to soak in some beauty.
The pretty part is between
the fog rolling in from the ocean
and the hills.
Here is that card I was working on recently.
I have already given it to the new mom.

Along with this outfit.
This is made of fleece fabric.
Should be cozy warm for the new baby.
But it is a little big yet which is good.
He can grow into it.
This is the back view.
I did not quite have it done when I took it to the baby shower.
I told the new mom I would have to take it back
and finish putting on the second section of snaps.
I did that and returned it to the family.
~~~~~
I don't have pictures of the pants,
but I did finish shortening two pairs of pants for myself
and two for B-Daddy.
I also had to alter a top for me as well and finished that too.
~~~~~
I gave up trying to replace the elastic in the jeans
I was working on.
I may tackle that more later.
Because........

We are leaving on a trip to visit our kids!
The suitcases are ready to go.
We just have get ourselves to the bus terminal
on time
for the ride to the airport.
The alarm clocks are set.
Yes, more than one!
And Helmi is going with us.
She is so excited,
she has parked herself
on the larger suitcase
to make sure I don't forget
to take her along.
Sorry, I didn't get a picture of that.
I gotta get some sleep
cuz we are getting up early.
Happy Friday!

Get R Done Friday - Card and Stuff

Participating in Get R Done Friday is still new for me.
I rather like the idea of posting the in-progress things
on Whatcha Working on Wednesday
and the things I finished on Get R Done Friday.
And I do have some finished things to show you today!
~~~~~~~
Wednesday I showed this not yet finished card.
And here it is finished.
The original has it in blues.
Blue vase and shades of blue flowers.
But the co-worker I made this for likes pink,
so I changed it. Also I used seed beads in the flower centers.
Unfortunately she has been out sick,
so she has not received it yet.
Perhaps today.
I finished the NOEL block I was working on.
I have started working on the next one.
And this card went from this---
to this!
It was for the son of another co-worker.
I never finished a gift I had intended to give her at her shower.
And now he is too big for it.
So I made another one in a larger size
and included the card above with it.
And this turned into---
This!
The co-worker was thrilled to get this cute boy outfit
and the birthday card for her son.
She said that it is still big for him.
I am glad, that means he can wear it longer and grow
into it more.
~~~~~~~~~~~
And finally!!
I have finished this apple bowl cross-stitch!!!
Picked it up in January to start working on it from where I left off
and finished it in October.
It is a great feeling to have this one all done.
Except for getting it framed.
Not sure how I am going to do that part yet.
~~~~~~~
Thank you to ClassyChassy at
for hosting
Get R Done Friday!
It is fun to have a place to post
our finished projects.
Have a great weekend!!
Get R Done Friday!
This is new meme I am participating in.
New to me anyway.
Today is my first time on this blog, but
I did my second week of participating
on my main blog.
It will depend on the project
as to which blog I post it on.
Thank you to Classy Chassy
for hosting.
Go and see what others have gotten done this week.
~~~~~~
In my Whatcha Working on Wednesday post,
I had several things in the works.
Now I have something DONE!
This is the finished look of the card I was working on.
I had to have it finished by yesterday.
And I finished it before work and took it to work
for the lucky gal whose 40th
birthday we were celebrating.
She loved it and so did our rehab team.
I was going to put this wording on the front,
but then I changed my mind and put it here.
All the staff signed the card.
The whole inside of the card was covered with
birthday greetings.
The back.
Interestingly everyone is amazed at how I make the cards.
They can't figure out how I do it.
I guess I am the only one on the team that does any kind
of craft/sewing/stitching things.
~~~~~~
Something else I have been doing.....
shortening pants.
One pair done,
three to go.
Plus a top to alter.
Better get to it I guess.
I also need to make another birthday card
and a baby shower card
and and and.......
Hope you all have a great Friday!
Whatcha Working on Wednesday-Cross Stitch and Such
Hey! It is Wednesday!
Time for sharing what you are working on
for Whatcha Working on Wednesday!
Thank you to Leslie at My Country Home
for hosting this fun theme for us.
Last week I shared a card I was barely starting.
Well, this is that finished card.
I was only a month late giving it to my parents.
But I did want to acknowledge that it was a special
milestone.
55 Years!!
They are going to put the card in a frame.
Another member of our church died last week.
I made this card for the widow and sent it in the mail.
We will be going to the funeral on Saturday.
This one was quick to make.
I found the design in a book I have,
"501 Cross Stitch Designs"
By Sam Hawkins
I have to admit that I am pleased at
how it turned out.
Here is the start of another card I am working on right now.
I also did some more stitching on my third "Merry"
block from the BOM I am doing.
I just have the french knot berries left
to do on this one.
Unfortunately I did not get to doing
anything on my apple bowl.
This week I better!
~~~~
So, what have you been working on?
Happy Wednesday!

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Time to share what I have been working on lately.
I did not get around to posting this last Wednesday
so I have several things to show you this week.
Go and visit Leslie at My Country Home
to see who else has been working on things in and around
their homes.
Thank you Leslie for being our lovely host.
This is a sympathy card I finished for a fellow church member
who was widowed.
I found out she really appreciated the hand made card.
I knew she would.
We frequently bump into each other
at the fabric store after church.
Hubby found this on a card program we have on the computer.
We printed it out and I glued it on the inside.

This is another card I am working on.
I am actually farther along than this,
and I will post the finished card after the recipient has received it.
~~~~~~~~~
Now for my big cross stitch project.
This is what I posted on the Stitch along blog two Sundays ago.
I had finished the highlighting on the apples
and started working on the apple slice on the left.
Also a couple more of the stems are done too.
This is the picture I posted this week on the Stitch along blog.
I did some of the backstitching that makes the crackle
look on the bowl.
I love how it looks.
Somehow it makes the bowl look more rounded.
In the meantime I have started another cross stitch card.
This is as far as I have gotten.
Hope to show a lot more done by next Wednesday.
~~~~~~~
I am also doing sewing.

Here is part of it cut out.

And I started sewing on this part.
So what am I making?
Hmmmm....
Have a great Wednesday!

Pink Saturday Crafts!

It is time for Pink Saturday!!
Thank you Beverly over at How Sweet the Sound
for hosting.
I am also doing a Pink Saturday post on my main blog too!

At work, whenever someone is expecting

there is eventually a Baby Shower for the Mom-to-be. This time I made a card.

Here it is in progress.

Obviously this Mom-to-be is

expecting a GIRL.

Here is the finished card!

I just started making cross stitch cards.

I get the cross stitch patterns from a book I have.

I am hoping to find another book to give me more options.

So far I have made 4 cards with two more in the works.

This is the outfit I gave her.

I had made this some time ago,

but never gave it to anyone.

Since I did not have time to make anything new

this worked in a pinch.

Now I need to make another baby girl outfit.

Another co-worker is expecting a girl.

Need to get to work on baby stuff again!

Why does blogger do this?????

This picture and the next got turned around.

Okay, just turn your head sideways to get a better look.

The hat.

Sideways.

Darn blogger!!

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Pink Saturday!

I will do my best to get around to those posting

for Pink Saturday.
