Actually I initially typed it that way by accident

and then I thought

Hey, wait a minute!

So I retyped what I deleted.

hosting Whatch Working on Wednesday.

Posting for this theme every week as I can

has really helped to keep me

moving forward on my projects.

Gotta show something I am working on

each week.

Also thank you to Sue at

hosting REDnesday.

If I have the least bit of RED in my projects,

then I am going to link up with Sue too.

More fun that way!

I will start you off with some RED.

And green too.

This is the fabric I got

to make the

other 4 quilt tops

I plan to make

for Christmas.

Well, I am going to try anyway.

The fabric is really more RED

than it looks here.

Also I have not ironed it yet

after doing the prewashing.

So what else have I been up to this week?

Sunday I took my 13 year old niece out

for pattern and fabric shopping.

My birthday gift to her was

to pick out a pattern and

fabric and I would teach her

how to sew it.

I suggested an apron as a good first project.

Her birthday was in August.

But she has a busy schedule and

Sunday was our outing day.

We checked out Simplicity patterns since those

were the ones that were on sale.

I am not going to pay full price for those patterns.

As we browsed through them

I explained to her the things that

made it easy or hard to make.

This is the one she picked out.

I rather like it myself!

This is what she picked out for fabrics.
The print will the the apron,
the blue the pocket and the brown
the trim and strap.
But as we were checking the pattern for how much
fabric,
we discovered this is a reversable apron!
Okay...so the blue will be the apron on the reverse side.
I forget how she wants to do the pocket on that side.
Anyway, I am going to prewash the fabric.
I always so that.
And then in a couple of weeks we get together again
to cut out the fabric and start sewing.
My niece has been wanting to learn to sew.
It will be a great way to spend some one and one time with her.

I feel in love with this fabric.
A littled RED there for REDnesday!
This will be for a special project that I will reveal later.
First I need to prewash this fabric too.

Oh, look! I love this fabric so much I uploaded the
picture twice!! LOL!

Hmm...another project in the works.

I am farther along with two more rows of

eyelet sewed on.

But upon looking on it closely, I sewed the

last row on upside down.

Ugh!!

Guess I gotta use my seam ripper and redo that one.

Can't stand to leave it like that.

I had to do some of this too.
Shorten my new pants.

Still need to do a couple more pairs

plus a pair for B-Daddy.

Another project I am trying to get done soon!

Can you see some RED there?

Ah....I gues it is more orange.

But that is RED and yellow together.......

A card I am working on.
Needs to be done ASAP!

Working on my second NOEL block.

This I take to work and do on my lunch breaks.

It is the easiest take along project

I have going right now.

Three or More Tuesday Challenge

It is Tuesday and time for Three or More Tuesday!

Thank you Tam for hosting every week.

You can see her over at The Gypsy's Corner.

These last few weeks I have been participating

in the 3 or More Projects in 3 Weeks

Challenge.

I'll have to admit that I did not get as far as I hoped.

Work and other projects I have to work on

got in the way as well as life.

But I will show you the progress I did make.

Thank you to Barbara Jean at Treasure From the Heart

for putting us up to the challenge.

I am sure I got more done than I would have

otherwise.

Having a challenge pushes me a little more

to see how far I can get by a certain day

and then report it.

Frequent visitors to this blog

are probably aware I have been working on

this BOM and that I am trying to make

8 sets.

The farther along in the year we get

the more I am afraid I may not get

8 sets done.

But I am going to keep trying!

I think I posted this the first week of the Challenge.

The block I was working on at the time.

And I shared this picture with what I
had done spread out along
with two more sets I wanted to
work on to get farther along as well.

I started sewing together the blocks I had finished up to
that point and was able to get the first one pieced together.

I also started piecing the next two.

Here is one of them.

Then I also did the prep work and got the designs traced

on the 4th set!

Actually all, except the last two blocks on that one.

I actually finished making the first quilt top. Meaning I

added the borders!

Here is how it looks!

TA DA!!

Finished quilt top!

One down, 7 to go.

Notice I said quilt TOP.

I still have to do the batting and backing and binding

any quilting I want to do.

That is a whole nother challenge!

LOL!

I have finished stitching the next block for the

second quilt top and currently working

on the NOEL block for that one.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Time to sharing what we we've been working on

for Whatcha Working on Wednesday.

Last week a gave you a peek at this project

I made for Lady Jane.

Here is a photo of the whole thing.

I made it as a tag she can attach to a baby bottle for

a game she had planned for the Baby Shower

she was giving for her daughter.

I had fun creating this for her.

It is basically my own design,

I got the design for the butterflies

from another card I made.

I just changed the colors.

I also made another Sympathy card

for members of our church whose adult

son died of cancer.

It is the same as a card I made previously.

I think I used a different yellow paper this time though.

I find that this design is quick to stitch up which works

great for making a quick card.

I keep plugging away on my BOM

project that I am working on.

Here is the finished MAGIC block.

In yesterday's post I shared more about this project

for the Three or More Tuesday post.

In the meantime I have finished a BELIEVE block and

currently working on another.

I have also done some prep work on

a couple of other stitchery projects.

Just not taken any pictures of those two projects

just yet.

I am SO close to being done on my apple bowl

cross stitch project for

the Stitch Along Blog I belong too.

Here I finished the blue and white cloth and

have done ALL the backstitching.

I just have a few more odds and ends to

tend to on this project.

Last is my sewing room project.

I finished cleaning out the closet

except for that last little bit still on the shelf there.

The closet is 3 feet wide and 6 feet deep.

The shelf at the end will stay there along with the rod.

The shelf on the right will come down and I will cut it

down to size to add another shelf above the one at the end.

I have a tall, narrow dresser that will fit under the rod at the end

and I will still have some hanging space for

projects I am working on or mending I need to do, etc.

Then I want to use the Elfa shelving system

along the rest of the wall on the right from

top to bottom.

I plan to use the 8" deep shelves.

That way it will fit the depth of the all on the right

and not stick out beyond the door frame.

And I won't keep bumping my shoulder or arms walking in

and out of the closet.

The wall on the left I want to use to hang

a bunch of flat items,

like a yardstick, stencils,

smaller cutting mats,

quilting tools that

have a hole to hang them from

and so on.

I just don't know how I am going to

do that yet.

I don't want the hooks to stick out too far.

I don't want to be accidently bumping into them too much.
But before I can start all that,

I have to get what is still left in there, out.

And clean the walls.

And then apply primer,

then paint it yellow to go with the rest

of the room.

Three Projects in 3 Weeks for Three or More Tuesday

Tam is our host for Three or More Tuesday, but

Barbara Jean at Treasures from the Heart is the guest host

for this special run for three weeks.

I decided I was going to try and finish 3 or more quilt tops of

Gail Pan's BOM.

A Christmas Wish is the name of this BOM.

I have been working on them when I can find the time.

Hard to do when I am working a lot and

then have a busy weekend.

But I take the project with me everywhere and

I find snippets of time to work on it.

For example during my lunch break at work is

one time when I bring it out and stitch a bit.

I finished my first MAGIC block!

And attached it to the first quilt top.

I am still playing with the outside border.

Should be able to show that to you next week.

I also finished another BELIEVE block and

attached that to the second quilt top.

I have started another BELIEVE block

for the third quilt top.

I am moving along, but I wish I had the time and energy

to move along a little faster.

May get some time to work on it Tuesday.

But Tuesday is our 30th Wedding Anniversary!

So we may be out doing something after I work a 1/2 day

at work.

Don't know what yet.

Depends on how hot it gets here.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday/REDnesday

It is Wednesday again.

I will be linking in with Sue at It's A Very Cherry World

and with Leslie at My Country Home

for Whatcha Working on Wednesday.

If you saw my post yesterday, you will see the progress I am making

for the 3 projects in 3 weeks.

I am trying to get as much as I can done on my

A Christmas Wish BOM project.

When I visited Kaaren at The Painted Quilt

I discovered what she uses to

draw or copy a pattern onto fabric.

It is mentioned in the directions of her download for her

First Friday Freebie.

I want to make that too!

A pen something like this one.

I thought, oh I have some of those.

So I tried it when I prepared the

MAGIC block.

Works great.

I love how it works.

So much easier on my hand!

I did more in my sewing room project too.

The room is partially painted a Sunset Yellow.

But it is not finished.

I moved some things around.

I had these things sitting in front of the window.

The full laundry basket was usually sitting next to it.

But right now it is empty.

Yay!

I have taken the door off the closet.

But with this mess in front of it,

I can't get into it very easily.

I want to make the closet into

an efficient storage place for

my sewing and craft items.

Then I won't have this mess I hope.

I moved the cutting table over to the other side of

the door for now.

I can get to the closet better.

I emptied it some more.

But as you can see I am not finished with that part.

When I empty the closet,

then I will clean and paint primer on the walls.

Then I will paint it yellow.

The rest of the room still needs to be painted too.

Then I moved my storage drawers

over here.

I can still get into the closet!

The ironing board is now in front of the window.

Which can be a pleasant place to iron.

I used to have it under a window in a previous place

we lived and I really enjoyed looking out the window

as I ironed.

We did those cabinets about a year ago.

The left one has scrapbooking things in it

and the right one has office type stuff in it.

I love the cheery yellow.

Can't wait until the rest of the room is also painted.

Here is a peek at something else I worked on.

I mailed it to Lady Jane for her

daughter's baby shower.

I hope she gets it on time.

The shower is this Sunday.

I will show more after Lady Jane has

received it in the mail.

Now for the something RED.

I found this in the closet.

The Christmas dress I made for my daughter

when she was 5 or 6.

I think it fit her for a couple of Christmases.

Here is the tag I put in it.

A close up of the lace.

Hmmm....I think I will see if this will work for my

granddaughter. It is still too big for her though.

I will give it to her later.

Still working on the MAGIC block.

Also bordered in RED!

Three or More Tuesday-Challenge Update

It is Three or More Tuesday!

But Barbara Jean at Treasures From the Heart

is the guest host for a few weeks.

We are in the middle of a challenge to get

three projects done in three weeks.

Visit Tam's place at The Gypsy's Corner for

more Three or More posts.

I am working on getting the blocks done on three or more quilts

of the BOM design from Gail Pan Designs

called

"A Christmas Wish".

Well, I am making progress.

Yay!

Let me show what I have done so far.

I am currently working on the ninth and last block

of the blocks. This one goes to the first set.

I sewed together the blocks I have finished so far on the first set.
When I get block #9 done, then I will add it to the bottom
row and then attach that row to the other two rows.

I have also started sewing together the other finished
blocks of sets 2 and 3.
Sewing these blocks together really made me
feel like I have made progress!!

I have also traced the designs of blocks 6, 7 and 8
for the second 2 sets.
I carry those in my bag so that I have them where ever I go
to work on. But first I have to finish the MAGIC one I am working on
right now.
I will keep plugging away and post again next Tuesday
the progress I make between now and then.
I have to say I am pleased with my progress for
the first week.
