I missed it last week, but I am back today with
Whatcha Working on Wednesday.
Leslie at My Country Home is our wonderful host.
Thank you Leslie for hosting.
This is the fourth one.
I have decided I am not going to get them done for this year.
So I will just keep working along on them in 2010 and
finish them for next year.
Currently I am stitching on the HOPE block.
It is almost finished.
I do my cross stitching at this table.
I have a good light to shine on my work and
there is more light coming from above too.
I don't usually carry my cross stitch around with me.
But I do carry my other stitching like the BOM
in the first picture.
I frequently work on those in the car, during lunch at work,
and worked on it during a concert the other day.
but it is now too cold to sew in there.
The sewing room is in transformation right now.
So I moved it to the other side of the table
from where I cross stitch.
Works quite well for right now.
to start putting up the shelves in the sewing room closet.
The ones on the left there will hang on the right side
of the closet.
Those two boards go above the shelf I already have.
I need to spray paint them white,
but it has been too cold and damp to do that these days.
Waiting for a warmer dry day.
We also got that step stool there.
It will be stored next to the dresser when not in use.
I hope to start putting them up this weekend if not before.
I have received a gift card from The Container Store
for my birthday also.
That means getting more shelves. Yippee!
I know getting shelves is not a glamorous gift,
but that is what I wanted. :-)

Hi!
Beautiful Cross Stitch your working on. I'll guess the sewing project is a purse. Love the color of the fabric. Have a great day!!

A View of My Life
Happy belated birthday! I cross-stitch in a recliner (well I used to) with the foot rest up. I tend to like to hold my hoop on my thigh so this works for me! I have really good light in the family room too where I do it. I haven't touched it in a couple of years but maybe again, someday. I'm like you on gifts. I don't care if it's practical at all. I don't like flowers bz they just die, candy makes me fatter, and perfume gives me hives, lol! Give me a good step ladder, shelving, containers to store things, etc. and I'm happy as can be. I'm in transition on my sewing room too. Trav just left on his mission so I'm in the process of patching pin holes in his walls (from posters and pictures) and then I have to prime it and paint it. Next clean the carpet and move everything in. I'll have to work around a bed and his TV and mini fridge and huge CD/DVD tower but I should still have enough room for most of my sewing stuff in there. I find that sewing really heats up my family room with the iron on and the extra lighting! Maybe that can keep you warm in the other room. Just a thought.
Linnea,
You were working on far more of the blocks than I but mine isn't finished either. I have the blocks all stitched but I didn't get the fabric cut and sewn around them so nothing is assembled. I had so long to work on them but stuff caught up with me....Oh, well! Something to look forward to next year, right?
Have a wonderful night!
Leslie
Loved seeing what you've been up to, Linnea!

Hi Linnea,
Thanks for the tip about photoscape for mosaics.

Linnea, Your Christmas table top is beautiful. I wish I could have gotten in earlier so I could have gotten the BOM. Thank you for keeping up with me while I am goint through this hard summer and fall with all my surgeries and recouperations. I am finally feeling good and hopefully had my last surgery last tuesday. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Happy New Year.
