Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Time for Whatcha Working on Wednesday.
Thank you to Leslie at My Country Home
for hosting each week.
I am using the larger font because I am finding it hard to read the normal font. Hope it helps for some you who also have a hard time.
So what have I been up besides being sick?
More on my sick stuff on my main blog if you want to find out more.
Last week I posted that I had painted the shelves for the sewing closet. Well, guess what I am posting about this week?
Yep, they are in the closet now. Yippee!
See? I, I mean B-Daddy, put up the shelves where I wanted them.
The spacing is strange looking, but that is how I wanted the spacing to be to accommodate my stuff.
I have the shelves partially organized here. I am still not finished with putting things away. But it is a start. Since I am staying home sick on Wednesday. I am hoping that I am starting to feel like doing something around the house. Today I did load the dishwasher and ran that. Not much of anything else though. Now that I am on antibiotics perhaps some of my energy will come back.
I did manage to do some stitching on my teddy bear picture, not a lot, but I am nearly done with the green leaves. Only have a little more to do on that part. Here is the picture.
That is all I have for this week. I hope to have more to show you for next week. I am really hoping to have my energy level get better so that I feel like tackling some of my projects.
I have too many to do and not enough energy or time.
Hope you all have a good Wednesday.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I am back again with a new post. I know it has been awhile. Different things going on. But I do have some new things to show you regarding what I have been up to lately. Besides working that is.
This is the latest picture of my cross stitch project. I am not moving along as quickly as I would like.
I have been working a lot lately. Just finished working two weeks in a row of six days each. A little much. I hope to slow down a little, but our Rehab department is a very busy place.

My niece was over again a couple of weeks ago.
She stays overnight whenever she comes.
These are the fabrics she chose from my scrap fabrics to use in her next project.
They are going to be gifts, so I won't reveal yet what she is making.
She still has a cast on her right wrist. So I had to do the cutting for her
after she picked out the fabrics.
My pal Helmi is watching me cut out the squares.
I show Helmi the squares I cut out. She gets so curious!
Helmi admires all the cut squares!
That was as far as we got that day.
Oh, wait, we did other cutting too.
But I am not showing that part yet.
Last Sunday I finally had a sunny while at home. Those nice days kept happening
while I was at work and cold, rainy days when I was home.
I had a chance to spray paint these shelves that will go in the
closet in my sewing room.
This is the spray paint I used.
Getting the first coat on.
I think I am finished here. I ran out of paint as well.
I thought one can of paint would go farther than it did.
Live and learn.
This was the first time I ever did spray painting.
It was so nice to work on something outside for a change.
I hope to get these shelves up in the closet this coming weekend.
And more organizing done as well.
We seem to be having more rain coming.
Might as well have inside projects to work on.

Thank you to Leslie at My Country Home for
hosting for us. Hope you have a chance to check out others who are
working on various projects.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I haven't done much this week for Whatcha Working on Wednesday. But I do have a couple of things to show you.
I kept forgetting to include this picture of a recent card I made. This one I gave to my Secret Sister at church for the reveal. She had no idea I was her Secret Sister. That meant I did a good job of not accidently giving away a clue that it could be me. She was thrilled with this card. She said I gave her good gifts over the year.
I was suspicious as to who was giving me things all year. And I was right. But look what she gave me for a reveal gift.
She gave me this Jim Shore Angel!It is an Easter one. But she waited until it was on sale after Easter then saved it to give to me for the reveal since this Easter she would no longer be my Secret Sister. I love it!
Here is a view of the back. I have it sitting on my table at the moment even though it is not the season yet.
I came across this unfinished project when I was organizing in the sewing room. Now if I can only find the instructions so I can finish it. It is very red even though it looks more orangy here.

Here is the latest on my Stitch Along project. I did some more of the green leaves on the left side. I am hoping to be getting busy on my projects again soon. I need more energy. I am off this Saturday so I am hoping for a productive day of working on projects and other stuff around the house. Thank you to Leslie at My Country Home for hosting. You can check there to see if others have posted their projects.

Happy Wednesday!

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I have fallen way behind in posting these days.
More on that in my main blog. But here I want to show you a few
things that I have been up to.
Besides working a lot and being very tired.
Thank you to Leslie at My Country Home for hosting
every Wednesday.
I have also slowed down on my sewing and crafting.
Hoping to get in the mood to tackle my projects again
with gusto. Hope it happens soon too.
I have so much to do!
We were able to get to The Container Store and
get 3 more rows of shelves.
Here they are up with another row of books added up there.
There! I added more stuff to the new shelves!
Looking pretty good so far.
Here is a close up of the pattern boxes.
This may not be their final resting place.
But I needed to empty the bookcase they are sitting on.
No, the bookcase is not empty yet.
I am getting there though.
I covered these boxes is gift wrap and made the labels.
I think it is prettier than the boxes that way.
I may somehow cover that Bee Sweetees box too.
Right now it is holding some of my card making supplies.
This is the update on my Stitch Along project week before last.
Did not do an update this week.
That is what I mean about getting back to my projects.
I did make more progress on this one though compared
to the last time I posted.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Happy Wednesday!

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

It is that time again. I know I have not been posting as much lately on either of my blogs. I hope to get back to that more often now. But I have been busy with different things and work. The dark days make me tired early. But wanted to get this posted anyway.

Thank you to Leslie at My Country Home for being the ever gracious host for Whatcha Working on Wednesday. So let's see....what I have I been working on.....

My niece stayed with us last weekend to finish her project. Here it is all finished. She had broken her wrist after the last time we were together. So this time I had to help her finish sewing the pillows closed. Her name is Elyssa and her sister is Annika. Annika does not know yet what the project is. The girls share a room and these pillows will be on their beds. I think Elyssa did a great job sewing these together. Elyssa has already picked out the next project, but we will wait until she can cut the fabric out herself since it is her project.

B-Daddy and I finally got this shelf hung up. Well, B-Daddy did most of it. I just helped hold it in place. We have had this since the middle of November. I am glad to have it up. We hung it in the laundry room which is where we come and go. This shelf with the hooks comes in very handy as a place to hang our jacket. Before we were draping them whereever. We place our lunch boxes on top of the shelf. Works great. We got this shelf at IKEA. We had to hang it high enough so that a tall person would not hit their head.

I have a start on this piece I was preparing last week. Not much of a start, but a start. I did not post a picture on the stitchalong blog I am a part of. Hope to do one this weekend though. I have Saturday off and should be able to get to some projects that day. I hope so anyway.

So, what are you working on?

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Here it is Wednesday again and time for
Whatcha Working on Wednesday.
Thank you to Leslie at
My Country Home for being the gracious host.
So what have I been up to lately?
Not posting much that is for sure.
But I do have some projects in the works.

I have written about teaching my niece to sew.
Well, she was over here New Year's weekend to
work on a new project.
Here she is pinning down the pattern pieces.

A close up of one of the fabrics.
It is a flannel.

And another of the other fabric she chose.

And of course Helmi had to get in on the act.
She likes to check out what us girls are up to.
And get in the middle of it all.
Can't blame her though because
she doesn't want to miss out on the fun.

Then my niece came to spend the weekend with us last weekend.
Now comes the sewing part.
Oh, and look, there is Helmi barging in again.

Meanwhile I did some work on these.
Both my current picture for the Stitch Along Blog
and started gridding for another project I am starting.

Helmi watches while my niece turns her
project right side out.

Some of her finished letters.
Had you figured out by now that she was making letters?

Then it was time to stuff them.
There are more pictures.
But I left my camera at my mother's last night when
we met there to work on it some more.

And this is the picture I posted on the Stitch Along Blog.
Moving slowly on it, but moving.
~~~~~~~
This was my first time to use the new updated blogger for uploading pictures and
composing your post. Worked great!
What have you been working on lately?
Get R Done Friday!
I am finally posting here again.
I have some Get R Done stuff to show you.
But first thank you to ClassyChassy for hosting
Get R Done.
You can find her at Expressly Corgi.
This week is the last episode of Get R Done.
~~~~~~~~

For gift bags just the right size for gift cards,

I decided to make the Itty Bitty Poochie Bags I found

at Mode Bake Shop.

Aren't they cute?

I made four of them for my nephew and nieces.

I stuck a gift card and some candy in each one.

They were a big hit.

I might make some more to have the ready for next year.

I have enough materials to make a few more.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am still working on my sewing room closet.
We have gotten more done on it!
I gave my husband a new cordless power drill for Christmas.
It worked great for putting up the top track for the shelves.
The I attached the first two rows of shelves.
That is all we have gotten so far.
Then I went through two boxes of books that were originally
stored on the floor of this closet.
I filled the two shelves with the books I wanted to keep.
Found four duplicates so of course I put those in the donation bag for the library.
I went through the rest of the books and decided to keep 17 others.
The remaining filled a paper bag to also be donated to the library.
The two boxes got cut down and put out in the recycle can.
So that was a little bit of decluttering for me.
Woo hoo!!
I have gift cards that will buy me three more rows of shelves and the needed
supplies to support them.
I will fill one more with books.
Then that should bring the height of the shelves down to a more comfortable height for me
to start storing my sewing and craft supplies on them.
My painful shoulders keep me from reaching up for things easily.
~~~~~~

So, what have you gotten done?
