Blue Monday #16A

Here we are at Blue Monday again! Thank you to Sally over at
Smiling Sally for hosting this wonderful Blue Monday for us. Be sure to hop on ever there and visit other who are participating in Blue Monday today.

I use to do a fair amount of tole painting. The above picture is a house I did as part of the class I had taken when I was learning the craft. I surprised myself at how well it turned out. I usually display it in the living room.

This is a candle holder. You can barely see where the hole is on the left top part of the heart shape. This has some blue flowers so I included it in the post for today. I had made a couple of these as gifts at the time I did them. I still have unfinished tole painting projects I had intended to do, but never finished because life got in the way. Actually it was working and going to school at the same time that did it. But now that we are empty nesters, this is something I keep hoping I will get back too. I don't know how popular the craft is now, but even if it is not, that will not stop me from going back to it.
Happy Blue Monday!!

Very nice candle holder...you should pick up your paint brush more often.
Anyone with as much talent as you have should not stop! How beautiful! I wish I could do work like this. Happy Blue Monday.
What fun Linnea to work with your hands and create something pretty to see. Enjoy this season of your life and have a great Monday!
I have always wanted to learn how to tole paint. Those are lovely -- I especially like the house. I have a collection of little house plaques or cutouts.
They are wonderful! Wow, is there anything crafty/creative you can't do? I love the little victorian house...that is "soooo" me, lol!
I hope you have a great day!
I agree with Sally...keep on painting! Your work is wonderful! Just look at the cute shingles and red brick steps on the house...and this was done while you were still learning, for goodness' sake! Amazing! :-)
Oh I love that little house!
Happy Blue Monday...beautiful blues! You really ought to consider painting again (if you enjoy it) You are very talented!
I think tole painting is a craft that is hundreds of years old and will go forward. Beautiful pieces.

I envy this talent. I took classes but never was good at it. I finally hired someone to finish my projects!!
Your tole painting is beautiful. You really have a lot of natural talent. I hope that you soon have time to finish your uncompleted works. Happy Blue Monday!

Neabear...Want to giggle some more? Go to Ms. Magpies post for today TUESDAY and peek at my comment! Oh....and NOW lol...I am concerned that one of her cats may have run off with the shiny spoon I was using to divert Ms. Magpie....we may have to go shopping for a new one....
I agree Nommy! You SHOULD go back to tole painting. It was always so much fun to see what you were working on. You should take pictures of Grandma's cupboards to show everyone all the stuff you can do! Those are very pretty.
now who not love that little blue house painting? how long did that take!?
